FAQs
1. Who is eligible for All Stars?
Any player registered in the current season, is in good standing with the league and played in 60% of eligible games within the Division.
Player must reside within league boundaries or be on a school waiver. Players that are registered on other waiver status are not eligible. (Contact the Player Agent with questions)
2. We moved outside of the GVSLL boundaries in the past year. My child has always played for GVSLL in the past. May he continue playing for GVSLL even though we no longer reside within GVSLL boundaries?
Yes, but all star and regular season eligibility should be confirmed with the Player Agent.
3. How does a player get invited to an All Star evaluation?
This process varies by division.
Junior Division (14/13u): There is an “open tryout." Any eligible player may attend.
Majors (12/11u): The top 16 players voted by the players by ballot will be invited to attend. The All Star Manager may invite up to 6 additional players of his choosing.
11u: The top 16 players voted by the Team Managers within the division will be invited to attend.
10u: The top 16 players voted by the Team Managers within the division will be invited to attend.
9u: The top 16 players voted by the Team Managers within the division will be invited to attend.
8u team: The top 16 players voted by the Team Managers within the division will be invited to attend.
7u team: The top 16 players voted by the Team Managers within the division will be invited to attend.
4. How will All Star players be selected this year?
All Star selection will be based on the following criteria:
A) Regular season performance
B) Prior baseball experience
C) Player performance at the evaluation
5. How are players selected for the All Star team?
Teams are chosen by the Board appointed All Star Manager; with feedback provided from every Manager within the Division.
6. When will the names of the All Star players be announced?
The 7u, 8u, and 9u announcements can be made two weeks prior to the start of their tourney. The 10u, 11u, 12u and Juniors levels may be announced June 1st.
7. How long does the All Star season last?
The District All-Star tournament runs through mid-July. The teams that win the District All Star Tournament proceed to the State All Star Tournament.
The furthest that the 9/10 year old and 11year old All Star teams may go is the State Level; through the end of July.
The 11/12 year old / Majors team: the winner of the state tournament proceeds to a Regional Tournament and then potentially to National and International Tournaments. The International All Star Tournaments are held in Williamsport, PA during August.
8. Where can I obtain a copy of the Little League Rules?
The Little League Rule Books are provided to all of the Team Managers. You may also view online or order a personal copy at www.littleleague.org.
